Our region is the most coveted wine tourism destination

The Gavi “La Buona Italia” Award is earned by entities that implement valid, actionable promotion in the food and wine industry. This year the award went to the Prosecco Protection Consortium D.O.C.G. Conegliano Valdobbiadene.

The Consortium has been recognized for its ability to promote exports and the reputation of the denomination throughout the world, while attracting tourists, travelers and food and wine enthusiasts. The ability to involve and inform the community of people who love Prosecco and the region from which it comes, is at the core of communication efforts; as is offering clear and consistent information to those who want to visit the Unesco Heritage hills, where the most famous bubbles in Italy are produced.

The role of the Protection Consortia is to create and strengthen the reputation of our region and terroir, placing emphasis on the various elements that make it unique: nature, wine, characters, history and traditions.

It is a joint effort, benefiting both the region at large and the individual companies operating within, which can thus focus their efforts on innovation, and optimization of wine production.

After the long pause due to the Covid emergency, wine tourism is now considered a “restart tourism”. The goal is always to capitalize on the enormous potential of Italy, which according to the Wine Food Travel Monitor is the most desired destination by food and wine tourists.

The Consortium effectively communicates on behalf of the region, but producers also play an important role in promoting the territory and its values. The international success of Prosecco is based on these combined efforts, which are essential for competing in a globalized economy; something to which we Folladors are proud to offer our passionate contribution.
