The final of the 75th Italian Open golf tournament was followed by an audience of 9,300 spectators, with 34,000 admissions registered during the four days of the event, where Follador was once again among the partners as Technical Supplier. The event was a great success with a sharp increase in the presence of foreign sports fans, including many tourists from northern Europe who were on holiday on Lake Garda. That location was a perfect base from which to reach the Gardagolf Country Club, which hosted the event.
The trophy went home with the Dane Thorbjorn Olesen, but the Italian Francesco Molinari came in second with two other Italian athletes placing in excellent position. This was a very important final step toward the main event leading to the Ryder Cup Project, which for the second year in a row has won a prize of 7,000,000 dollars.
Even in the face of this powerful economic investment, the Italian Open is going to become one of the flagship events on the world’s golf calendar. We are therefore enthusiastic and grateful for the privilege of pairing the Follador brand with this international event, and to that of many prestigious partners, all united in the name of sporting spirit and healthy competition.
