MORE GOLD MEDALS FOR FOLLADOR PROSECCO SINCE 1769

FROM PROSECCO OF THE YEAR 2020 TO A GILBERT & GAILLARD GOLD

Follador Prosecco since 1769 has added yet more medals to its collection at the international competition organised by the GILBERT & GAILLARD guide, an essential reference for professionals and wine lovers. Top spot on the podium and a GOLD medal went to Prosecco Sup. D.O.C.G. Extra Dry 2019, followed by Prosecco Sup. D.O.C.G. Extra Brut with 91 points and Prosecco Sup. D.O.C.G. Brut with 90 points.

This latest GOLD award was the first of the new year for Follador Prosecco since 1769.

Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. Extra Dry 2019, which was recently named Prosecco of the Year 2020 at the Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships, has garnered another gold from the authoritative Gilbert & Gaillard guide, the benchmark for professionals and wine lovers all over the world.

And this was not the only success in this latest accomplishment for the estate from Valdobbiadene, with Prosecco Sup. D.O.C.G. Extra Brut being awarded 91 points and Prosecco Sup. D.O.C.G. Brut 90 points.

These awards are a source of inspiration for us as we proudly continue our journey, rising to new market challenges – said Cristina Follador, the company’s Sales & Marketing Director – we have always taken our responsibility to the local community and environment very seriously, while striving to innovate and improve the quality of our wines. These enduring values are particularly important in such uncertain and troubled times as these.”

Conserving and protecting the exclusive characteristics of the terroir of Valdobbiadene, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is something Follador Prosecco since 1769 has always done with passion and determination.

Well aware of the importance of this task, the Follador family has nurtured this land for centuries, land which lies in such a privileged position in the heart of the Dolomites yet close to Venice. Commitment, tradition and respect for the health of people and the environment have guided nine generations of the family in their pursuit of excellence, a family with a winemaking tradition that dates back over 250 years.

Although a recipient of many international awards, the estate has never forgotten its origins and lovingly preserves the memory of its past, from the very first acknowledgement it received back in 1769 from the Doge of Venice, Alvise IV Mocenigo, who praised Giovanni Follador and his determination to produce such exceptionally good wine from the land he had converted entirely into vineyards.
