As the 2015 harvest approaches, it is becoming clear we were correct in our anticipation that this will be one of the best harvests in recent years. It has been a favorable year in terms of climate, characterized by a regular pattern of temperate weather until early summer. Since the second half of July, the area has been under a heat wave which initially created some apprehension, but the rains of these last days have brought things back to normal helping to make the harvest, both from the point of view of quality and quantity in line with the yields expected by the procedural guideline.
Francesca Follador, winemaker of the family says: “We are right on the doorstep of harvest. Within the next several days we will be heading into the vineyards to bring in the grapes once it is determined they are at perfect ripeness, probably in mid- September. Thanks to favorable weather conditions the quality of the grapes is excellent; good-looking golden and ripe berries with a fruity bouquet of yellow apple, peach and pear. The only thing we need to do is begin picking at the ideal moment to bring out the best from the fruits of this fabulous 2015 vintage.”
It promises to be an incredibly satisfying harvest which is very exciting for the Follador team who continues to improve upon what nature offers year after year. It is another proud moment communicating once again to the market the stability and continuity that Prosecco D.O.C.G. Superiore Valdobbiadene has brought throughout its long production history.
2020 HARVEST – AN EXCELLENT VINTAGE
The quality of the grapes harvested is excellent; the climate was lenient and favorable, as evidenced by the fragrant bouquet of the musts, also good from an analytical point of view. 2020 was a particular and difficult year in many regards, but this magnificent harvest rewards us and gives us optimism for the future.
