The first 500 trees of the Follador Forest have been planted.

The Follador Prosecco dal 1769 sustainability plan continues at full speed. Now more than ever, the winery is committed to a project that will yield benefits long into the future through the creation of a forest of 1500 trees in collaboration with B Corp Treedom. And flying the flag for the project will be Fosélios Prosecco Superiore DOCG Brut, with part of the proceeds from sales going towards initiatives to help the environment and local communities.

Details of the project will be presented at Vinitaly, Stand F4 – Hall 5

500 trees planted per year, for at least 3 years. Honouring their commitment to help reduce CO₂ emissions, Follador Prosecco is launching a new project to enhance the environment and combat climate change, conducted in collaboration with B Corp Treedom, which has been promoting the planting of trees globally since 2010.

Standard bearer for this green initiative is Fosélios Prosecco Superiore DOCG Brut, the latest DOCG label to be released by the winery, which is based in the village of Col San Martino. The wine exemplifies the business’s eco-friendly philosophy. Indeed, the very name of this young wine represents a tribute to light, conviviality and future generations, being a combination of the Greek words Phos (meaning “Light”), and Helios, the “Sun God”. So a ray of sunshine captured in a bottle, and a flagbearer of those values founded on respect for Mother Earth – values which have guided the philosophy of Follador Prosecco for 9 generations.

“Every bottle of Fosélios purchased will contribute to the creation of the Follador Forest in various countries across the globe,” says Cristina Follador, the winery’s sales and marketing director. “Our winemaking tradition is deeply intertwined with the land that is our home, and this guides us to act holistically in our approach to both our viticulture and our region.” She concludes: “Promoting the planting of new trees makes us proud that we’re playing our part to preserve the Nature we love so much.”

Mario Pacifico, Managing Director of Treedom, states: “It gives us immense satisfaction to see businesses that craft prestigious Italian products, such as those in the food and wine sector, joining efforts to safeguard the environment. This commitment not only preserves our natural heritage, but also maintains what nourishes and sustains us. Together, we can do great things.”

White Mangrove, Cashew, Coffee and Cocoa: the first 500 trees have already been prepared in Colombia, Nepal, Kenya, Haiti and Tanzania, and are ready to be planted. The Follador Forest will help bring benefits not only to the environment, but also to local people: the planting of trees in rural areas seeks to guarantee food resources and economic opportunities for local communities.

Together with membership of the Sustainable Wine program, the Equalitas certification process, recent installation of photovoltaic panels controlled using the Regalgrid® platform, and the latest acquisition of a wine decanter – a real jewel of modern technology – the commitment of Follador Prosecco dal 1769 to contributing to a healthier future is constantly being strengthened.

For enthusiasts of the brand, tasting Fosélios will symbolise a moment of deep connection with the earth, a gesture of respect and love towards the world around us, as well as generations to come.
